Catholic Bioethics Center  The National Catholic Bioethics Center (NCBC), established in 1972, conducts research, consultation, publishing and education to promote human dignity in health care and the life sciences, and derives its message directly from the teachings of the Catholic Church. The results of this research are available though this website and our various educational and publishing activities, workshops and seminars.

Evolution News and Views  The misreporting of the evolution issue is one key reason for this new blog. The news media in the U.S. seem to have rediscovered the evolution controversy recently. Unfortunately, much of the news coverage has been sloppy, inaccurate, and in several cases, overtly biased. Contributors include Rob Crowther, John West, Jonathan Witt and Seth Cooper, among others.

Technology and Democracy Project  Disco-Tech offers commentary and analysis on issues pertaining to technology, with a special focus on telecommunications deregulation, broadband deployment and new technologies. The blog also explores the impact of technology on a host of issues ranging from the economy to education to transportation.

Secondhand Smoke  Secondhand Smoke considers issues involving assisted suicide/euthanasia, bioethics, human cloning, biotechnology, and the dangers of animal rights/liberation. Wesley's views expressed on the site, as in his books and other writings, reflect his understanding that the philosophy of human exceptionalism is the bedrock of universal human rights. Or, to put it another way: human life matters.
