Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, from the rising of the sun to its setting Your holy Name is worthy of all praise.  Let our prayer come like incense before You.  May the lifting up of our hands be as an evening sacrifice acceptable to You, Lord our God.  Amen.

Before you post, please remember Matthew 5:43-45:  "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven."

  1. Let us pray for our Bishop and his staff that God will grant them faith, hope and charity during this time of transition in our Diocesan life.
  2. Let us pray for Bishop Jack and Donna Iker and for Canon Charles and Marilyn Hough.
  3. Let us pray for the membership of Saint John's to have a holy Advent and Christmastide.
  4. Let us pray for the poor and the needy, and let us ask through prayer that our heavenly Father will use us as a parish family to show them Christ's deep love and care for them.
  5. Let us pray for our parish family that will be traveling over the holidays for a safe journey and return.
  6. Let us pray for Christians everywhere who are suffering and are persecuted for their faith.  Let us pray for their moral courage and for inner strength.  Let us also pray for those who are persecuting Christians that the Holy Spirit will be able to find a way to open their heart to the way of love.
